How much does childcare through Caribou cost?
Our moms set their own rates. Weekly pricing generally runs about $200 to $250, while daily pricing runs about $60 to $80. You can easily set up payment online.
Why is Caribou better than daycare?
The ratio of staff to children at daycare can be much higher, in some cases as high as 12 to 1. And the higher number of children means more exposure to germs and viruses. At Caribou, we strive for a ratio of 2 or 3 to 1 between the children and caregiver.
Many daycare centers also require you to pay for full-time care whether you need it or not, and even charge when you’re away on vacation. With moms in the Caribou network, not only does your child get personalized, attentive care, but you pay only for the care you receive.

How do you vet caregivers?
We personally review every application, interview each care provider, and conduct a thorough background check. References are provided upon request.
How do you match me with a care provider?
We look closely at your needs and what our providers offer. Using a combination of an algorithm and personal review, we handpick the best match for you.
What support will I get throughout the process?
A Caribou Concierge will contact you shortly after you sign up and will personally search for your best match. You’ll get a link to the caregiver’s profile and we’ll schedule a meet and greet. You’ll also get support with online payment. If you need support with anything else throughout the process, help is just a text away!
Can I meet more than one caregiver before deciding?
Yes! We want everyone to be happy with the match. Once you meet a care provider, you have 24 hours to decide before the provider’s profile is reopened to other families. If you would rather keep looking, we’re happy to find you another match.
Do I have to commit to care for a certain amount of time?
No, you’re not contractually obligated for any amount of time. If you decide to change or stop care, we ask that you give us and the provider 30 days’ notice.
What if I have a disagreement with my provider?
While we pride ourselves on the high quality of care our network of moms provides, we understand that miscommunications or misunderstandings can sometimes happen. We’re just a text away if you need assistance with any issues.
What if I need one-time care at the last minute?
No problem! Whether it’s an emergency situation or a date night, or you just need some “me” time, we’re happy to find one-time or short-term care for your child among our moms with flexible schedules.
