FAQ

How much should I charge?
Weekly pricing generally runs about $200 to $250, while daily pricing runs about $60 to $80. Many care givers also watch multiple children. You can easily set up payment online.
How do I know I’ll get a good match?
We personally sort through families looking for care and handpick the best potential matches based on what you tell us about your needs and your child’s personality.
How long does it take to get matched?
After signing up, families looking for care will message you. You can scroll through your messages, respond, video chat, and book all within the app!
What are the requirements to be a caregiver?
All Caribou care providers are stay-at-home mothers who have passed a background check. Many have experience providing childcare beyond their own family as well, but it’s not a requirement. We look for moms who are nurturing, attentive, and sympathetic, and who prioritize active play over screen time. First aid training also is encouraged. References are provided upon request.
Do I have to commit to a certain amount of time?
You choose your own schedule based on what works best for you. If for any reason your schedule needs to change or if you can no longer provide care, we ask that you give us and the family 30 days’ notice so there’s plenty of time to find another good match.
Do I need to provide food/diapers/crafts/toys?
You’ll work this out directly with the family. The parent will generally provide diapers and any special food items, toys, and/or craft projects their child prefers, but of course we do encourage sharing of your own child’s toys and crafts.
What pandemic precautions will be taken?
You’ll work this out directly with the family.
